These classes are instructed by passionate, local community members who are well-known for sharing their great talents, traditions, and cultures here in Rhode Island!

 

Register for the African Drumming Class!

Acclaimed Malian musician Sidy Maiga instructs an immersive African drumming class, equipping each participant with a drum during the group sessions. 

Embrace the opportunity to learn djembe and dundun drumming from Sidy Maiga, a master drummer and internationally recognized professional and award-winning musician from Mali, West Africa. 

Sidy moved to Rhode Island in 2006, since then he has loved to share his culture with the community and produces an annual West African Dance and Drumming Festival. He is a former graduate of Dorcas International and is currently completing his degree at Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Cost: $80 for 4 Lessons

Drums will be provided during the session. No experience necessary.
